I have always wanted guest posts on Orgasmic Chef but until now the method for putting the posts in has been clunky and involved a lot of work. I couldn’t find a plugin that worked just like WordPress but didn’t require joining and having to use the dashboard.
Few people want strangers to register and then try to find their way around their dashboard. Just the worry of hackers has always concerned me althought that might be totally unfounded.
I went to my trusty programmer (he shares the bed with Charlie the dog and me) and said, “I would love to showcase other food writers’ orgasmic recipes but it’s just so much work. They have to write it all up in an email and attach the photos and then I’ve got to copy it and paste it and upload the photos. Can you add a guest post feature?”
Many people using the EasyRecipe plugin have asked for the same thing so I knew I wasn’t alone. There are heaps of people who love doing guest posting and even more people who’d love to have a few guest posts on their blogs for when they need to be away.
So, without further ado…
I’m beta testing the newest guest post functionality of the EasyRecipe Plugin for WordPress. It will be part of our new EasyRecipe Plus with other bells and whistles that other bloggers have asked for.
Do you have an orgasmic recipe you’d like to share with my readers?
… seriously orgasmic where you’d rather eat that dish of food than have sex, I would LOVE to share it with my readers. As you know, I do like showcasing other food writers work.
The new EasyRecipe Plus plugin will be available very soon and it will have the Easy Guest Post feature all installed. Other nifty upgrades too! (We’ll be offering another stand alone guest post version for non-food blogs too). Please try it and let me know if you have any problems or issues with it? It IS the first test so it might be buggy but fingers crossed it will be perfect. heh
Hi Maureen, I loved what you did on Terra’s site with the sticky date pudding. I’ll have a think about what recipe I can upload for your blog. If any of mine spring to mind, do let me know. xx
Are you kidding, Charlie? I drool on every recipe you post. I hate to impose on people and beg them to guest post.. can you tell my confidence sags a bit? 🙂
Please post? I’ll get down on one knee. Maybe two.
Would love to guest post…now what recipe should I share?!?
Elizabeth, whatever you choose as a recipe you love will be greatly appreciated!
What a great idea to test your plug in Maureen! I bet you get loads of people interested in it!! 🙂 And hehe I chuckled at your trusty programmer who shares your bed with you and Charlie the dog. I bet not every programmer could claim that!
We have a king sized bed and I live with a man who likes to snuggle. So I hold on to the edge of the bed, then there’s John and the dog has 2/3 of the bed, but does he stay there? No, he sleeps at my feet.
I hope you’ll do a guest post one day, Lorraine! I’d really love it.
What a nifty idea making guest posts easier — WordPress really does think of everything, huh?! I would love to do a guest post with you some time and have you do the same at Savoring Today. 🙂
Hi Judy, I don’t think WordPress thought of this. My darling husband did this for me. 🙂 I would be so grateful if you did a guest post!
Oh, so sorry I misread that — we must give credit where due!
Very cool! It would be fun to do a guest post for you Maureen. You have such a fun blog. I have a few seriously crazy delicious recipes, just let me know if you want to use one. 🙂
Chris! Anything you make is orgasmic, honestly. 🙂 Please share a recipe?
I will be watching to see how this all works. Great idea. You are so creative.
What a wonderful idea my friend, this plugin sounds fantastic 😀
Glad you are testing it out!
If I have a recipe before exams start for you, I will let you know 🙂
Cheers

Please, please, please??? Anytime! I would love to have you guest post.
Haha that is so nice 😀 thank you!
I am lined up for 2 guest posts and have 8 guest posters on my own blog while exams are happening but in the holidays, I promise! 🙂
Cheers
CCU
Great idea, Maureen. I’ve been loving your EasyRecipe plugin so I’m sure your new idea will be well received, too. It would make guest posting so much easier!
I would love to submit a recipe sometime–I’ll just have to make sure it will be more than good enough for you and your readers. Will start thinking of the perfect dish to share here. Chocolate would be a good place to start, right? 🙂
don’t be silly!! Because my link is open to everyone, you know I’m gonna get some box ideas and that’s just not going to make our readers happy, is it? 🙂 ANY of your recipes are orgasmic in my opinion!
WHAT_A FAB_FAB idea!!! Love it. I have never guest posted, so no idea what’s involved, but this sure seems very easy! I would definitely like share something one day.
Great idea Maureen! I had a few guest posts while I was away earlier in the year and it was rather tricky working with slow overseas internet to get them all up and running.
This is a nice new feature, Maureen!!
I must confess, the idea of a plug in that allows guest posts makes my mind boggle a little. Such cleverness! One day I will move myself across to wordpress and actually be able to use all of these things (sigh).
You’re so lucky to share a bed w/a dog and a programmer…pretty convenient;) I wonder if you could make have him make one for blogger? Such a super idea. I love it.
he keeps saying he’ll look at blogger but he hasn’t gotten there yet.. fingers crossed
I’d love to share a recipe! Oh my, I’ll have to think of what could be worthy to submit!
Great idea! And do tell John to adapt this to Blogger. 😉 I have too much on my plate at the moment to think about guest posting, but someday I’d love to, if you’ll have me. I do have a couple of recipes that I think are sufficiently orgasmic. 😉
This is the “awesomest” plugin ever. I would love to guest post for you (let me know if you have something in mind you would like to see). Hopefully, you can share one of your orgasmic recipes on my blog soon as well 🙂
If YOU think something is delicious, I will too, I promise! Please submit a recipe!
What fun, Maureen. And how utterly convenient to have such a talented bed partner, lol…I’ve been contemplating moving on over to WordPress. It may be real soon. Can’t wait to see all the guest bloggers. Have FUN!
How cool you are developing such a great plugin. I am in awe.
I would love to do a guest for some time. I have a recipe I first posted on the blog called “sex on the wtf” that I’ve been dying to revamp. I need to take new pics of the old one too so would give me an excuse to play around with tweaking the recipe.
You got it working! Fab. Now I will just have to choose a recipe, and give it a go.
Liz, my newest best friend! I hope you’ll post a recipe. Give us a peek at where you live, too! 🙂
I am currently putting together a post of our new home. Should be up by next week. We should catch up for a cook up! I definitely need to getting my baking fix.
we should! I made my first successful batch of macarons last week. 🙂
What a brilliant idea! I’ll have to get thinking on any extra steamy recipes that come to mind!
Ashley, I would love it if you’d do a guest post?

I will definitely be checking in to see how this plug in works! Thanks for being the beta tester for us all. Thank you also for the open invite for guests’ posts. I would love to but I am fixing to be without a kitchen for a few weeks. Maybe once I have my new kitchen. 🙂
I don’t think I am there yet!
Wow your trusty programmer sure is trusty when it comes things like this! I’ve totally loving the idea! I would love to guest post, just not sure what I can make…mmmm….
What a wonderful idea Maureen. I would love to do a guest post for your wonderful blog..I just need to find a recipe that is good enough..I will be back ..
I hope you are feeling better
I am soooooooooo freaking excited about this plugin!!!! When you shared about it, I was getting giddy, it is going to be so much easier, and I love that:-) You and your hubby ROCK!!!!
I’d love to do a guest post for you. Just let me know when you’d like something! Thanks for offering this opportunity with you! Roz
How handy to have a programmer at your side – literally! Wonderful idea. I’d love to submit something. Are there any parameters? Anything that you’re craving or not interested in?
Hi Maureen, sounds fantastic! I’m loving the EasyRecipe plug in and looking forward to seeing the expanded functionality! 🙂 Lucky you for having found such a skilled programmer in your bed! *wink*
Marty, if he doesn’t stop adding things to it and launch it, I’m going to pull my hair out. 🙂 Thanks a lot for the kind words about our recipe plugin.
